Job summary

Staffline are partnering with TSS to recruit a Retail Security Officer for Newport. You will provide a visible uniformed deterrent and help maintain safety and security on site.

Applicants must hold an SIA licence and be aged 18 or over. The role runs 3pm–11pm, with shifts Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat and Sun, at £14.10 per hour, in a busy retail environment with training and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• SIA licence is required for the role.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential.
• Ability to work as part of a team and adapt to a dynamic environment.
• Comfort with using digital devices and reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent and contribute to site safety.
• Observe and report incidents using correct reporting systems.
• Deter potential troublemakers and uphold company policy on loss prevention.
• Maintain a clean and tidy security base and participate in evacuations if required.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches as needed.

TSS are looking for a Retail Security Officer in Newport, Gwent, where no two days will be the same and you will have the opportunity to carve out a career with the biggest name in security.

Position: Retail Security Officer

Location: Newport

Pay Rate: £14.10 per hour

Hours: 3pm to 11pm

Shifts: Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Your Time at Work

• To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• To carry out Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at local level are identified
• To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring full uniform is worn and SIA licence is clearly displayed
