Job summary

Routes To Work South in Glasgow city centre is seeking a part-time Retail Security Officer to deter theft and protect staff, customers and stock. You will patrol, monitor CCTV, respond to alarms and complete reports while upholding company procedures.

Applicants must have the Right to Work in the UK and a valid SIA Licence. Prior security experience and strong customer service skills are essential. The role offers part-time hours (Mon-Sun 6am-2.30pm) and a competitive hourly rate.

Qualifications

• Must have the Right to Work in the UK and ability to pass BS7858 vetting.
• Previous experience in a security role.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible security presence, deterring theft and anti-social behaviour
• Patrol the store and monitor CCTV for suspicious activity
• Respond to alarms and incidents, escalating where required
• Conduct searches in line with company procedures when necessary
• Complete accurate incident and observation reports
• Work closely with store management and staff on security matters
• Provide a professional and approachable presence
• Assist customers and staff with queries
• De-escalate challenging situations calmly
• Follow all site procedures, company policies and legal requirements
• Support the wider team and undertake additional duties as required
