Job summary

BardWood Support Services is hiring a Retail Security Officer in Galashiels. You will patrol store premises, monitor entrances, and respond to incidents to keep staff and customers safe. The role requires a current SIA license and a strong ability to handle pressure.

You'll work Friday to Sunday, 11:00–23:30, totaling 38 hours per week, with a pathway to permanent employment after 12 weeks accompanied by benefits such as pension, private medical cover, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• SIA Licence is required.
• 5-year checkable work/career history is required.
• Experience in a similar role is advantageous.
• Physically fit to undertake tasks.
• Able to work under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Call for help in emergencies and operate theft-detecting devices.
• Deal with large crowds and build positive customer relations.

About the role

Title – Retail Security Officer

Pay Rate –£13.10

Location – Galashiels

Shift Timings – Friday to Sunday (11:00-23:30)

38 hours per week

You will be working in a well-known retail store, which holds various stock. Officers are responsible for providing safety and security to both staff and visitors alike.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Patrolling the Retail Store Premises.
• Investigating Disturbances, as well as monitoring the entry and exit points of the retail store.
• Confidently calling for help in emergency situations and operating theft-detecting devices.
• Effectively dealing with large crowds and building positive customer relations.
