Job summary

TSS in Newcastle is hiring a Retail Security Officer to help protect the client's premises and staff. You will provide a visible uniformed deterrent, patrol areas, observe and report incidents, and follow loss-prevention procedures to keep the site secure.

An SIA Licence is required, and you should be a confident communicator with good customer service skills. You’ll benefit from extensive training, induction, and ongoing support as part of a large international security provider.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible uniformed deterrent to protect the premises and staff.
• Carry out loss prevention per Company Policy and ensure safety.
• Deter potential troublemakers on site in a lawful manner.
• Observe and report incidents using approved reporting systems.
• Carry out duties assigned by the client or manager.
• Keep site knowledge up to date and identify local developments.
• Understand and implement Fire and Safety evacuation procedures.
• Assist with staff and contractor searches if required.
• Maintain the security base in a clean and tidy condition.
• Present a full uniform and display an SIA licence at all times.

TSS are looking for a Retail Security Officer in Newcastle, where no two days will be the same and you will have the opportunity to carve out a career with the biggest name in security.

Position: Retail Security Officer. Location: Newcastle. Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour. Hours: Various. Shifts: Various.

Your Time at Work

• To provide a visible uniformed deterrent, to contribute to the safety and security of the client's premises and staff
• To carry out the Company Policy on loss prevention and ensure the safety of staff and visitors
• To lawfully deter potential troublemakers on site
• To observe and report incidents using the correct reporting systems
• To carry out all duties assigned by the client or manager to whom you are responsible
• To ensure site knowledge is kept up to date and developments at the local level are identified
• To understand and implement any Fire and Safety evacuation procedures
• To assist, if required by the Client, with staff and contractor searches
• To ensure that the Security base is always maintained in a clean and tidy condition
• To conduct yourself, at all times, in a manner which will bring credit to yourself and the Company, ensuring a full uniform is worn and an SIA licence is clearly displayed
