Job summary

Mitie is seeking Retail Security Officers at Asda Darlaston to deliver exceptional customer service while creating a safe shopping environment free from crime and fear for customers and colleagues.

You will work mornings, evenings and weekends with shift patterns including 1800-0015 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and must be flexible to cover colleagues’ annual leave. A valid SIA licence and retail security experience are required.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid SIA licence.
• Experience in security/retail environment preferred.
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Deliver industry-leading customer service and maintain a visible security presence.
• Deter violence and assist with crowd control when required.
• Conduct store patrols and monitor CCTV to reduce crime and stock loss.
• Report incidents promptly using the company’s technology and liaise with store management.
• Collaborate with police and crime partnerships to foster safety in-store.

Location: Asda Darlaston, St Lawrence way

Mitie is looking for Retail security officers who can deliver exceptional customer service whilst creating a safe shopping environment, free from crime and the fear of crime for customers and colleagues.

Objectives and Responsibilities:

• Work to the Assignment Instructions ensuring that all activity is accurately recorded on the correct documents, in line with both the Client's and the Company's Quality Procedures
• To follow the site-specific Risk Assessments ensuring all activities are completed in a safe manner
• Set and maintain the highest personal and professional standards as an employee of MITIE and adopt a total quality approach to every aspect of your work, colleagues and clients
• To create a safe working environment, free from crime and health and safety related issues for colleagues, contractors and customers
• To add a polite greeting and excellent customer service
• Provide a visible security contact for colleagues, contractors and customers

Main Duties:

• To deliver industry leading customer service
• To be clean, tidy and properly dressed wearing full uniform
• To deter violence and public order offences
• To conduct patrols of the store
• Utilising CCTV systems to support the reduction of crime and stock loss
• Liaise with the store management teams
• To report incidents and crime through our leading technology
• Liaise with the Police and crime partnerships where required to foster a great working relationship to support the reduction of crime in store
• To wear Body Worn CCTV to support in the reduction of crime and increase colleague and customer safety

Who are we looking for?

• MUST HOLD A VALID SIA LICENCE
• Must have previous Security Retail Experience
• Experience of delivering Customer Service
• Excellent communication skills are required both written and verbal
• Adaptable communication style to meet the needs of different people groups
• Ability to work in a fast-moving services business
• Capability in the use of technology
• High level of enthusiasm and passion
• Previous experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential
• Public Space Surveillance SIA licence is desirable but not essential
