Mitie Cleaning & Hygiene Services at Lidl Oxford Templars Shopping Park is hiring a Retail Security Officer to protect customers, colleagues and store assets while delivering outstanding service. You’ll provide a highly visible security presence, deter theft, and respond to incidents across a busy retail environment.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, prior retail security experience, and strong communication, with opportunities for training, progression, and benefits through Mitie’s

Qualifications

• Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guarding Licence.
• Experience in a retail security environment.
• Strong loss prevention knowledge.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Provide a visible and professional security presence throughout the store.
• Deter theft, fraud, stock loss, and anti-social behaviour.
• Conduct regular patrols of the sales floor, warehouse, and external areas.
• Respond appropriately to incidents, emergencies, and security concerns.
• Complete detailed and accurate incident reports.
• Liaise with store management, colleagues, and external agencies where required.
• Monitor and report suspicious activity.
• Deliver excellent customer service and assist customers whenever necessary.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and site instructions.
• Support the store team in creating a safe and positive shopping experience.
