Job summary

Demelza Charity is seeking a Relief Shop Manager to cover Kent and South East London, working 22.5 hours per week with flexible shifts across seven days. You will lead the shop team, handle donations, and ensure excellent customer service while driving sales.

Responsibilities include day-to-day shop operations, visual merchandising, and ensuring quality gift-aided donations. You will travel between shops and empower volunteers and staff to deliver outstanding service.

Qualifications

• Experience in retail management, preferably in charity or commercial retail.
• Strong customer service focus with a passion for delivering the best experience.
• People management skills for a mixed team of paid staff and volunteers.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day running of the shop and sales floor.

• Maintain visual merchandising and update displays seasonally.

Job description

We are looking for a talented Relief Shop Manager to provide cover and support across Kent and South East London, working flexibly across the seven-day trading week working part time of 22.5 hours per week.

You should have a commercial or charity retail background and be committed to providing a source of income for Demelza Hospice Care for Children. You need to be enthusiastic, passionate and driven to ensure every customer and donor receives the best possible customer service and experience.

As the Relief Shop Manager, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the shop. Working on the sales floor alongside your team, you will keep customers and donors happy, and deal with any issues that may arise in a timely manner. In addition to this, you will oversee all donations ensuring they are prepared and sorted ready for the shop floor, with a focus on quality gift aided donations.

You will need a creative flare to maintain excellent visual merchandising and ensure window displays are changed in line with our seasonal/events calendar. Computer skills are a requirement for this role, particularly knowledge of Microsoft Office.

You will need to be able to use your initiative to make effective decisions and delegate work. Your team will be made up of a mixture of paid staff and volunteers, therefore people management skills are essential for this role. You will empower your team to deliver the best service.

You will need to be able to travel to our shops, either via public transport or using your own vehicle.
