Morrisons is seeking a Trading Manager to lead core grocery and ambient departments, owning operational and commercial performance, driving sales, optimizing stock and staffing.
Reporting to Store Manager, you will supervise Team Leaders and Customer Assistants, ensure promotions, pricing, stock availability and compliance with health and safety standards. This role offers a dynamic environment with progression opportunities within Morrisons' extensive supply chain.

Reporting to the Store Manager, you’ll take full operational and commercial ownership of your departments; maximizing sales, optimizing stock availability, and leading your team to deliver exceptional store standards and customer service.
Day-to-day, you will:
Drive Commercials: Own sales targets, stock flow, gap management, and labour allocation to maximize profitability and yield.
Maintain Standards: Ensure flawless visual merchandising, promotional setup, and accurate pricing across all aisles.
Lead Teams: Inspire, manage, and coach Team Leaders and Customer Assistants to reach top operational performance.
Optimize Inventory: Manage delivery intakes, stockrooms, and replenishment to keep shelf availability high.
Ensure Compliance: Enforce health and safety regulations, store policies, and audit standards.
You are a high-energy, commercially savvy leader passionate about fast-paced retail operations and driving sales performance.
Commercial Mindset: Strong understanding of retail sales drivers, inventory control, space management, and stock flow metrics.
Proven Leadership: Experience managing teams within high-volume retail, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), or big-box store environments.
Hands-on Attitude: You thrive on the shop floor, leading by example during key peak trading windows and reacting quickly to customer demand.
Superb Communication: Able to motivate floor teams, direct operations efficiently, and collaborate closely with store leadership to achieve store-wide KPIs.
