Retail General Manager

£50 - 60,000 + Car Allowance, Bonus & Full Package

Most experts will tell you that retail is hard. They might be right. In many ways, the retail landscape has changed and companies that haven’t changed with it will not survive. Thankfully many have and this business is one of them. Profitable and stable but always looking for new ways to delight their customers, they’ve maintained their position in one of retail's growth markets and have many exciting future plans and initiatives.

The Person

You’re a bright and capable retailer with bags of enthusiasm and the potential to go further. A willingness to learn will help as will an entrepreneurial approach and a commercial streak a mile wide. You'll get plenty of room to make decisions with control over layout and stock package and will be responsible for all onsite projects, managing 99% of what goes on in the store so you'll be happy with that visibility. Particularly skilled in all aspects of profit protection and sales generation, you’ll know how to use your analytical skills and ability to spot additional sales opportunities, minimise shrink and improve the bottom line.

The Role

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the role takes full responsibility for all day-to-day site operations including:

1. Being the leader with regards to all short, medium and long-term store plans.
2. Setting standards with regards the overall layout, the look and feel of the site, service standards, product mix and profit protection.
3. Controlling all budgets and managing the P&L.
