Job summary

Morrisons invites you to join a 3-year Retail Degree Apprenticeship, earning a BSc (Hons) Retail & Business Management degree from the University of Bradford while gaining leadership experience across all store areas. You will balance work with study, including study leave, and progress toward a managerial role after completion.

The programme involves early starts, late finishes, weekends and Bank Holidays, with support from mentors, buddies and on-programme coaching to help you grow as a future

Job description

We have nearly 500 friendly stores in our local communities across the country. We love providing over 9 million customers every week with good quality fresh food and a great shopping experience they won't find anywhere else. On our 3-year Retail Degree Apprenticeship you'll work towards a degree while preparing for a brilliant management career within our unique food retail business.

Achieve a valuable degree and the start of a great career

You’ll gain experience across every area of the store, building a full understanding of our operations, systems and what it takes to keep our stores running smoothly. As your confidence grows, you’ll complete leadership training and get an early taste of management by taking on responsibility for a team of colleagues within a department. Day-to-day tasks that you will be responsible for could include:

• Ensuring the store is set up to the best standard to drive sales and continue delivering a great customer experience
• Spending time with other colleagues to understand each area of our stores and the part they play
• Supporting live business projects to develop project management skills
• Learning about our store trading operations and systems

As well as learning on-the-job, you’ll also be studying towards a BSc (Hons) Retail & Business Management Degree Apprenticeship at the University of Bradford. Balancing work and a degree course will be challenging, so to support your learning, we'll offer study leave to complete university work stress free. At the end of the 3-year scheme you will be ready for a Manager role in one of our stores.

As the fast-paced world of retail isn’t 9-5, this role involves early starts, late finishes, night shifts and working weekends and Bank Holidays. It’s hard work for sure. But it’s also very rewarding. Every day is different, and we’ll support you every step of the way. If you love helping customers, learning to become a retail manager is a great idea!

What you need to join us

Recently achieved or being predicted a minimum of 112 UCAS points and having achieved GCSE Grade 4 in Maths and English are needed for this programme. Sitting at the heart of our business, it’s important you’re comfortable making decisions and can work well in a team. Our Retail Degree Apprentices also need a few key attributes to succeed, which include:
