Job summary

bp is hiring for a Temporary Customer Service Assistant on the night shift. This initial 6-week contract includes comprehensive training to equip you with the skills to serve customers and support store operations.

You will work in the bp retail team, contributing to safe, friendly service, handling food and drink from the Wild Bean Café, restocking, and promoting offers. Applicants must be 18+ and ready to join a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+.
• No prior retail experience required; training provided.
• Enjoy helping customers and working as part of a team.
• Able to learn and follow bp policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Ensure customer safety and bp policies are followed.
• Serve customers efficiently and meet their needs promptly.
• Create a positive, inclusive store environment.
• Prepare and serve Wild Bean Café items.
• Take deliveries, restock shelves and manage stock.
• Promote bp offers, promotions and loyalty schemes.
• Carry out cleaning across store, facilities and forecourt.

Individuals with a passion for customer service and who are energised by working together as a collaborative team within a fast-paced retail environment. We don’t expect all who apply to have previous retail experience, as you will be provided with online and on-the-job training to support you to develop the skills and capabilities you will need to perform your role at bp.

What you will be responsible for

• Making sure that the safety of yourself, your colleagues and our customers, in line with bp policies and procedures, is your top priority
• Serving customers efficiently, ensuring their needs are met promptly and effectively
• Fostering a positive and inclusive work environment, in line with bp beliefs
• Preparing and serving food and drink items from our Wild Bean Café
• Taking in deliveries, replenishing stock and completing stock management tasks
• Being proactive in supporting bp’s offers, promotions and loyalty scheme
• Carrying out cleaning duties in all aspects of the store, facilities and forecourt

This is an initial 6 week temporary contract. As a valued member of the bp retail team, you will receive full training and support to help you succeed in the role from day one.
