Job summary

Booker Group is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to manage a portfolio of customer accounts across our Retail sector. You will proactively collect balances, nurture relationships with customers and internal teams, and ensure prompt payments within agreed terms.

The role emphasizes collaboration, accuracy, and commercial awareness, with opportunities to support colleagues and contribute to cash collection strategies across the business.

Qualifications

• Experience in a Credit Control environment with knowledge of Credit Management and cash collection.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Able to work under pressure and manage a varied workload with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with internal stakeholders across branches, depots, and sales teams.
• Develop lasting relationships with customers and provide professional service.
• Proactively manage collection activity to maximise cash recovery and reduce aged debt.
• Handle failed payments by suspending trading until payment is received.
• Collaborate with Debt Collection to recover delinquent debt.
• Resolve customer/account queries promptly to avoid delays in payment.
• Work with Sales Ledger to ensure accurate cash allocations.
• Monitor and manage customer credit limits to minimise risk.
• Provide weekly aged debt reports and monthly ledger reviews.
