Job summary

Farmfoods is seeking an Assistant Store Manager in St Helens for a 43-hour, full-time contract. You’ll work closely with the shop manager to run a busy 300+ shop, coach a small team, and drive sales while controlling costs. The role includes weekends, flexible hours, and a focus on delivering great customer service.

Salary £31,449–£35,306 per year plus benefits; 30 days holiday, 15% staff discount, life assurance, pension, and access to staff benefits including a virtual GP and other perks.

Qualifications

• Some experience as a manager, team leader or supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the shop manager to run an efficient shop and provide a great service to our customers.
• Be responsible for developing your team of retail assistants through coaching, mentoring and feedback.
• Be accountable for the shop in the absence of the shop manager and ensure customers are looked after, deliveries are processed quickly and shop routines are completed to maintain a safe, clean, and tidy shop.
• Motivate and guide your team to control operational costs including shrinkage, waste and payroll.
• Support the shop manager with recruitment and induction of new team members.
