Retail Assistant Manager (Superstore)
£25,419 - £29,679 plus benefits

Contract: Permanent
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Location: Dunstable Superstore

We’re seeking a motivating Superstore Assistant Manager to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, supporting the Superstore Manager and your team to maximize sales and fundraising targets. Your store will be a community hub where people learn about our work and see the impact we make.
You’ll also be surrounded by people who share your dedication to beating cancer.
What will I be doing?
Supporting the Superstore Manager in leading and inspiring a large team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development.
Managing the commercial aspects of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management, shop standards, layout, sales, and income generation.
Working with the Superstore Manager to meet targets for donated stock, cash, Gift Aid, average selling price, sell-through, and stock processing.
Assisting with processing systems for donations and their distribution across shops, superstores, and eCommerce.
Leading by example to provide excellent customer and supporter service.
Building relationships with the local community and colleagues to boost engagement, income, and stock levels.
Supporting the organisation and delivery of creative fundraising events to meet targets.
Deputising for the Store Manager when needed.
Engaging in manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
What are we looking for?
Commercial awareness with a track record of working towards sales and profit targets.
Experience managing and inspiring a diverse team.
Ability to work within targets and motivate others to achieve them.
Ability to multi-task in a busy retail environment with large stock volumes.
Creativity and a desire to find innovative solutions.
Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
Flexibility to work on a rota basis, understanding the importance of work-life balance.
