Job summary

Bettys & Taylors in York is seeking X3 Retail Assistants to join our team on a temporary basis at Bettys Cafe Tearooms in York. You will work part-time hours across 2 or 3 days, including at least one weekend day, with shifts that may start early or finish late.

You will deliver high standards of customer service, enjoy a fast pace, and be keen to learn about our products. Full training is provided, and you will benefit from a supportive team culture and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience preferred but training provided.
• Ability to work at pace and communicate clearly.
• Willingness to learn about products and share knowledge with customers.

Responsibilities

• Provide high levels of customer service in a fast-paced environment.
• Assist customers with queries and product information.
• Support the team to maintain clean, welcoming cafe areas.

An opportunity has arisen in our Retailteamand we are looking for X3Retail Assistants to join us on a temporary basis as part of our team at Bettys Cafe Tearoomsin York.

Working pattern

• These roles will be Part Time working either 16 hours over 2 days or 18 hours over 3 days.

• We have a variety of shift patterns with start and finish times staggered throughout the day which is dependent on the opening hours of the branch. 

• These shifts may include early mornings or evening shifts up to 11pm.

• You willbe requiredto work at least one day at the weekend every week.

• These roles will be fixed term until 31st December 2026.

About you

You will have a keen interest in customer service and the ability to work at pace. You will havegood communicationskills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on ourstrong teamethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service.  You will have the desire to learn all about our products and be able to confidently share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers.Previousexperience working in a customer facing environment and knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
