Job summary

Bettys Café Tearooms in York is seeking a Retail Team Leader on a fixed-term basis for 12 months. You will lead a busy front-of-house team, drive excellent customer service and ensure food hygiene and safety standards are met.

This full-time role offers 37.5 hours over 5 days, with early mornings and weekend work required. You'll engage and motivate the team to maintain Bettys' high service levels in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Background in customer service, hospitality or retail.
• Experience in managing and motivating a team.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
• Knowledge of food safety and health & safety procedures.

• Lead and motivate a Retail team to deliver high-quality customer service.
• Maintain Bettys brand standards and ensure food safety and health & safety compliance.
• Coordinate with store operations, including weekend shifts and varying start/finish times.

An opportunity has arisen in our Retail team and we are looking for a Retail Team Leader to join us at Bettys Café Tearooms on a fixed term basis at York.As a Retail Team Leader you will be responsible for achieving excellence in customer service, engaging and motivating a team, as well as maintaining the highest brand, food hygiene and health & safety standards, all within a fast-paced environment.

Working Pattern

• This is a Full Time role working 37.5hoursover5days.
• The start and finish times can vary depending on opening hours of the branch, this may include some early mornings or later finishes with a normal shift length of 8.5 hours per day (no split shifts.)
• You will be required to work at least one day at the weekend every week.
• This role is fixed term for 12 months.

About you

You’ll have a background in customer service, hospitality or retail. You’ll have experience in managing and motivating a team. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. You will have the desire to learn all about our products and be able to confidently share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers. You’ll have some knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures.
