Job summary

Maison Estelle in Mayfair is seeking a welcoming Restaurant Host to greet and serve our private members, manage reservations, and tailor VIP experiences. You will build relationships with members and ensure a flawless hosted-home atmosphere.

The role requires hosting experience in busy hospitality, proficiency with MS Office and SevenRooms, strong English, excellent communication, and a passion for hospitality. We offer staff socials, discounts, 28 days holiday, and a pension plan.

Qualifications

• Hosting experience in a busy, high-volume hospitality operation.
• Excellent communication skills and confidence talking to members and colleagues.
• Strong command of English, both written and spoken.
• Attention to detail and ability to spot mistakes or gaps.
• Excellent time-management and prioritisation during busy periods.
• Ability to build genuine relationships with members.
• Planning ability and the capacity to work unsupervised.

• Creating a warm, welcoming and lasting impression for our members.

• Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions; ensuring follow-up is prompt.
• Being aware of VIP members and their guests and tailoring their experience.
• Anticipating members' needs and providing a personalised experience.
• Feeling empowered to make decisions to enhance the member experience or resolve complaints.
• Ensuring issues are dealt with immediately, logged and followed up.
• Taking responsibility for the end-to-end member journey to feel like a hosted home.
• Suggesting changes to improve accuracy, efficiency, cost and the member experience.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities as the Restaurant Hostwill include but are not limited to:

• Creating a warm, welcoming and lasting impression for our members.
• Striving to build genuine relationships with all members.
• Answering phone calls, taking reservations and answering questions or queries members may have and ensure all follow up is carried out promptly.
• Being aware of all VIP members and their guests visiting us and ensure their experience is tailored appropriately and inform restaurant management of their arrival.
• Anticipating to members needs and provide them with a personalised experience.
• Feeling empowered to make a decision that will enhance the member experience or defuse any complaints which may arise.
• Ensuring any issues that may arise are dealt with immediately and to conclusion, logged accurately and promptly followed up.
• Taking responsibility for the end‑to‑end member journey ensuring every member feels like they are in a hosted home.
• Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, cost reductions and to improve our member experience.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Previous hostexperience in a busy and high‑volume hospitality operation.
• Computer literate (MS Office, SevenRooms, CRM systems)
• Planning ability; able to work unsupervised.
• Attention to detail, able to identify mistakes and request clarification.
• Excellent time‑management skills; comfortable prioritising what is important during busy periods.
• Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking to colleagues, senior management, and members.
• Strong command of English.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.
