Job summary

Maison Estelle, a private members’ club in Mayfair, is seeking an experienced Food & Beverage Manager to lead the team and deliver a hosted, flawless dining experience for members. You will set service standards, mentor staff, oversee training, manage costs and ensure health and safety across all shifts, while maintaining discretion and personalised hospitality.

Flexibility for evenings and weekends is required, and the role comes with perks such as staff socials, staff meals, discounts

• Proven experience managing the food and beverage departments in a luxury / lifestyle operation.
• An inspiring leader who relishes taking responsibility for running food and beverage teams and departments.
• Experience with purchasing, health and safety and food safety, payroll and rota systems.
• Flexible work including evenings and weekends due to club hours.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations within the F&B area to deliver a hosted experience for members.
• Provide direction to the restaurant team during service.
• Lead by example with hands-on leadership and a can-do attitude.
• Ensure the restaurant is set up/closed correctly, with mise-en-place prepared.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of the full menu.
• Handle member complaints to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Assist in achieving budgeted food/drink costs, sales, stock and labour costs.
• Oversee training and development of the F&B team.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

The key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

• Managing the day-to-day operations and activities within the F&B area ensuring the team deliver an exceptional hosted experience for our members.
• Provide direction to the restaurant team during service.
• Lead the team by example, adopting a hands-on approach and a can-do attitude
• Make sure the restaurant is set up and closed accurately and on time; cleaned, restocked and all mise-en-place is prepared and ready on time.
• Maintain a thorough working knowledge of the entire restaurant menu.
• To proactively manage any member complaints ensuring we follow up so that our members and their guests leave happy with a positive dining experience and lasting impression.
• Help to achieve budgeted food and drink cost, sales, stock, labour costs and profitability.
To be aware of our members who are drinking and / dining with us and ensure the bar team personally tailor their service appropriately.
• To be an ambassador for the club as well as someone who embodies our values and commitment to our teams both when at work and when not.
• To offer strong leadership, mentoring, and guidance to your team.
• To empower and mentor your team, nurturing a strong teamwork ethic
• Oversee creation and development of all training for your team and make sure all colleagues attend training.
• Support and answer questions and provide assistance to stakeholders, management and members as needed.
• Assist all members of the F&B team to perform their roles, by providing training, solving problems, and removing obstacles.

• Stays up to date with current food and beverage trends and best practices.
• Must be able to work flexibly including evenings and weekends due to the operational hours of the club.
• Excellent communication skills and comfortable talking to colleagues, senior management and being front of house building relationships with our members.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and hosting.
