Job summary

Redbridge School in East London is seeking a Respite and Reintegration Teaching Assistant to support students returning to mainstream education. You will work within the pastoral and SEND support team to deliver targeted interventions and manage respite provisions, helping pupils re-engage with learning.

The role involves classroom support and close collaboration with Heads of Year, SEND staff and senior leaders.

Qualifications

• Experience with young people in schools, youth work or education settings.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• GCSEs in English, Maths and Science at grade 4/C or above.
• Strong ICT skills.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and supervise respite and internal exclusion provision.
• Deliver mentoring and intervention programmes to support pupils' personal development.
• Support reintegration of students back into mainstream lessons.
• Build relationships with parents, carers and external agencies.
• Monitor student progress, behaviour and attendance.
