Job summary

West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a full-time Band 3 Appointment Scheduler for the Respiratory Department at Hemel Hempstead. You will join a busy team, managing and prioritising appointments, checking patients in and out, and booking follow-ups across sites in line with the Trust’s Patient Access Policy.

The role requires excellent organisational and communication skills, with experience in Cerner/PowerChart preferred.

Qualifications

• Good general education (GCSEs) including English and Maths.
• NVQ Level 2/3 in Business Administration or equivalent experience.
• Experience in a busy administrative environment and NHS knowledge is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Check patients in on arrival and book appointments.
• Book follow-up appointments and manage schedules to align with clinical urgency.
• Check patients out after visits and maintain accurate records in the system.
• Upload and scan documents to Cerner PowerChart per policy.
• Update patient information across relevant systems as required.
