Adecco is recruiting a Resource Planning Assistant for Merseyside Police in Merseyside. This temporary role focuses on efficient resource management and administrative support within the Force Resource Unit.

You will help determine resource strengths, manage rotas, and maintain demand profiles while ensuring compliance with Working Time Regulations. The ideal candidate has a solid grasp of resource allocation, scheduling, and strong IT skills in Windows and MS Office.

Qualifications

  • Experience in resource allocation and work scheduling.
  • Knowledge of Personnel Policies, Police Regulations, and Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Proficiency in Windows, MS Office, and resource management systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills.
  • Able to work under pressure and prioritise workloads.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Resource Planning Supervisor to determine resource strengths to meet customer requirements.
  • Provide administrative support for operations in the absence of the Resource Planning Supervisor.
  • Maintain an up-to-date demand profile to ensure effective personnel allocation and manage restricted and recuperative duties.
  • Administer Force rotas to maintain fairness and communicate details to all relevant individuals and Command Teams.
  • Monitor staff working hours to ensure compliance with Force policy and Working Time Regulations 1998.
  • Contribute to the administration of the Duty Management System (DMS), including staff movements and flexible working agreements.

Working Pattern: Full Time (36.5 hours per week, 5 days a week)

Our client, Merseyside Police are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Resource Planning Assistant to join their dynamic Force Resource Unit. This exciting opportunity is perfect for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about effective resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Resource Planning Assistant, the successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient administration of the Resource Management System. The position involves a variety of responsibilities, including:

  • Assisting the Resource Planning Supervisor in determining resource strengths to meet customer requirements.
  • Providing administrative support for operations in the absence of the Resource Planning Supervisor.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date demand profile to ensure effective personnel allocation, including managing restricted and recuperative duties.
  • Administering Force rotas to maintain fairness and equity, while effectively communicating details to all relevant individuals and Command Teams.

Ideal Candidate:

The perfect candidate will possess the following:

  • A strong understanding of resource allocation and work scheduling issues, along with relevant knowledge of Personnel Policies, Police Regulations, and Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Proficiency in IT, particularly in Windows, MS Office applications, and resource management systems.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to balance competing demands and advocate for the needs of both individuals and the organisation.
  • A self-motivated attitude with the capability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads effectively.
