Job summary

British Transport Police is seeking a Resource Planning Manager to lead the Force Resource Planning Unit. You will oversee operational resource allocation to support frontline policing, major events and critical incidents, ensuring delivery against force objectives.

The role requires proven leadership, strong stakeholder management, data analysis and coaching of teams. A blended home and office working pattern is available, with 37 hours per week and a competitive salary of £41,267.45 per year.

Qualifications

  • Educated to A-Level standard or equivalent with experience in an operational or resource planning environment.
  • Proven track record of managing teams in a large, multi-disciplined operational organisation.
  • Experience in performance management, coaching and mentoring customer-facing teams.
  • Strong Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, provide operational advice and lead responses to time-critical incidents.

The Opportunity

Are you looking for your next exciting career move? British Transport Police have an excellent opportunity for a Resource Planning Manager to join the Force Planning Unit. As a Resource Planning Manager with BTP, you will lead the operational activities of the Force Resource Planning Unit (FRPU), ensuring resources are deployed effectively and efficiently to support frontline policing, major events, operational incidents and key force objectives.

Essential Criteria

What you'll bring to the team:

  • Educated to A-Level standard or (or equivalent) with experience working in an operational or resource planning environment.
  • Proven track record of managing teams in a large, multi-disciplined operational organisation.
  • Experience in performance management, coaching and mentoring customer-facing teams.
  • Strong Stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills.

Desirable Criteria
  • Experience leading a team working flexibly across multiple locations.
  • Experience managing and implementing change.

The FRPU will be operational between 08:00-16:00, Monday to Friday and postholders will be required to work within these parameters. However, hours can be flexible within 07:00-17:00 each day.
