Buttermilk is seeking a Resource Lead on a fixed-term contract in London to coordinate capacity and demand across Client Services, Strategy, Creator Services, Creative, Design, and Data. You will own the holistic view of resources and balance timelines, ensuring sustainable, value-aligned delivery.

Responsibilities

  • Own resource planning for existing client deliverables and new business activity across the business - managing and optimising allocation of client services, creative, strategy, design, and data resource.
  • Act as the central point of coordination for resourcing - providing a clear and consistent view of priorities, timelines, and capacity across teams.
  • Introduce and enforce resourcing processes - ensuring requests are submitted, reviewed, and prioritised in a structured and consistent way.
  • Maintain a holistic view of capacity and demand across upcoming priorities - proactively identifying future pressure points and planning ahead to meet demand.
  • Partner with department leads - ensuring resourcing decisions are aligned, informed, and realistic before commitments are made.
  • Identify and resolve resource conflicts - balancing competing priorities and providing clear, practical solutions to overbooking or bottlenecks.
  • Apply a commercial lens to resourcing decisions - considering project scope, value, and resource mix to support efficient and sustainable delivery.
  • Manage freelancer allocation - coordinating freelance support to meet demand.
  • Improve systems and workflows - identifying inefficiencies in current resourcing processes and implementing better ways of working.
  • Provide reporting and insight - tracking utilisation, capacity, and resourcing trends to support planning and decision-making.

Role Overview

The Resource Lead role sits at the centre of the business, working across Client Services, Strategy, Creator Services, Creative, Design, and Data to ensure work is resourced effectively across both existing clients key deliverables and new business activity.

You will own and coordinate the holistic view of capacity and demand across upcoming priorities - balancing competing timelines, aligning teams to the right work, and ensuring delivery is realistic, well-planned, sustainable, and aligned to the value and scope of the work.

You’ll improve how work flows through the business by introducing clearer processes, stronger planning discipline, and better visibility of timelines and capacity. This will create greater clarity and alignment across teams, enabling more efficient planning and allowing departments to focus on delivering high-quality work.

Key Responsibilities

Required Experience
  • A Resource Lead with hands-own experience working with multidisciplinary teams (e.g. campaign management, client services, strategy, design, data and creator / influencer services etc. )
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and high volumes of work in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience implementing or improving processes and systems to support planning and delivery
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Confident communicator, able to work across teams and manage stakeholder expectations
  • Experience working with resource management tools or project planning systems
  • Comfortable working with data and using it to inform decisions
