Job summary

Clarendon Infants' School in Tidworth is seeking a warm, creative Teaching Assistant to support pupils in achieving their potential and to feel valued within our inclusive ethos.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children's learning in the classroom, small groups or 1:1 interventions.
• Ability to build positive, trusting relationships with children to promote confidence and independence.
• Patient, nurturing approach with flexible support for individual learning and communication needs.
• Understanding of, or willingness to develop knowledge of, ASC and related communication needs.

Job description

The successful candidate will:

• Have experience of supporting children's learning, either within the classroom, in small groups or through 1:1 intervention.
• Be able to build positive, trusting relationships with children, promoting confidence, independence and self-esteem.
• Demonstrate a patient, nurturing and flexible approach, adapting support to meet individual learning and communication needs.
• Have an understanding of, or a willingness to develop knowledge of, supporting children with communication and interaction needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
• Be committed to promoting positive behaviour, inclusion and emotional wellbeing.
• Work effectively as part of a collaborative team, building strong relationships with colleagues, families and external professionals where appropriate.
• Be enthusiastic about contributing to our specialist Resource Base, while recognising that it is an integral part of our inclusive school community.
• Share our commitment to high expectations for all pupils and believe that every child can flourish, regardless of their starting point.
