Job summary

Care in Mind is seeking a part-time Healthcare Support Worker in Leeds to join our residential service for young people aged 16-30. The role covers 20 hours per week with shifts including early and late patterns, weekends and bank holidays.

You will contribute to education, daily living tasks, and medication administration. We offer training, DBS checks, and supportive development opportunities within a therapeutic framework to help young people progress toward independent living.

Qualifications

• Flexibility to work shifts including weekends and Bank Holidays.
• Attend training throughout employment on weekdays.
• Good written skills to write basic reports and record information accurately.
• Basic IT skills and ability to use online care systems and write emails.
• Good verbal communication and listening abilities.
• Ability to maintain professional working boundaries.
• Full UK Manual Driving Licence (not automatic).
• NVQ Level 2 in Care or equivalent.
• Experience with young people with mental health needs.

Responsibilities

• Promote independence through support with education, household tasks and general life skills.
• Update online care records and administer medications.
• Maintain a tidy and homely environment in the home.
• Support meals, including meal support and documentation for eating disorders.
• Help manage incidents of self-harm and risk-taking behaviours.
• Assist young people in transitioning to independence and education routes.
