Job summary

Resicare Alliance Children's Care in the United Kingdom is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join a dedicated team supporting children with complex needs. You will provide child-centred care, maintain safety and wellbeing, and act as a key worker for allocated children.

The role is full-time (40 hours per week) with a competitive pay rate of £13.50 per hour and opportunities for progression, leadership of shifts, and safeguarding responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Genuine motivation to work with children and make a positive difference.
• Willingness to work towards Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years.
• Ability to build relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Emotional resilience and ability to stay calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends and sleep-ins.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• An enhanced DBS check valid for working with children (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, stability and wellbeing.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Supporting children with daily routines, education, activities, health appointments and life skills.
• Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Acting as a key worker for allocated children, taking responsibility for care planning and outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate, timely records and contributing to reviews.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading shifts when required.
• Engaging respectfully with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Working towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved).
