Job summary

Resicare Alliance Ltd in Wolverhampton is seeking a Residential Support Worker to provide safe, nurturing, child-centred care for children and young people in our residential home.

The role is a full-time 40-hour week, paying £13.50 per hour. You will offer stability, mentorship, and lead shifts where needed while pursuing the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare and safeguarding duties.

Qualifications

• A genuine motivation to work with children and make a positive difference.
• Willingness to work towards the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare within two years.
• Ability to build appropriate relationships while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Emotional resilience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Willingness to work flexibly, including shifts, weekends and sleep‑ins.
• A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
• An enhanced DBS check valid for working with children (or willingness to obtain one).

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, child-centred care that promotes safety, stability and wellbeing.
• Building positive, trusting relationships with children while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Supporting children with daily routines, education, activities, health appointments and life skills.
• Following care plans, risk assessments and behaviour support strategies.
• Acting as a key worker for allocated children, taking responsibility for care planning and outcomes.
• Maintaining accurate, timely records and contributing to reviews.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, and leading shifts when required.
• Engaging respectfully with families, social workers and other professionals.
• Working towards your Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (if not already achieved).
