Job summary

Essex County Council is seeking a Residential Assistant (Support Worker) to work in a Longwood Place short break service, supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities. The role requires a flexible, person-centred approach and a commitment to high-quality service delivery.

You will join a team, work a rota, and receive full training and induction. A driving licence or mobility means is required to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• Educated to RQF Level 2 (GCSE) or equivalent by experience.
• Willing to achieve the award within 24 months.

Responsibilities

• Provides support to individuals to reach optimum independence in line with the care plan.
• Assist individuals/groups to access social and leisure activities.
• Monitor wellbeing and safeguard adults from abuse, reporting concerns to senior staff.
• Support individuals to make choices respecting dignity and privacy.
• Maintain respectful, patient, and courteous interactions with adults, families, visitors and colleagues.
