Job summary

Essex County Council invites applications for a Residential Assistant (Support Worker) in Basildon. This permanent role is part-time, 32 hours per week, with a pro rata salary of £22,451 per year.

You will work within a residential/short break service, supporting adults with learning and physical disabilities, and contribute to a high-quality, person-centred service. Training is provided, and a driving licence may be required.

Qualifications

• Educated to RQF Level 2 or equivalent with willingness to achieve award within 24 months.
• Experience in a social care setting and ability to work in a team.
• Good communication and rapport with diverse groups.
• Some experience with adults with disability preferred.
• Willing to undertake provided training.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to individuals to reach independence following the care plan.
• Assist access to social and leisure activities including college classes and community groups.
• Monitor wellbeing and report safeguarding concerns to senior staff.
• Respect dignity and privacy; promote person-centred choice.
• Maintain respectful, patient interactions with adults, families and colleagues.
