Peters Dean Care Ltd is seeking an experienced Residential Support Worker to join our children’s home team, supporting up to 2 looked-after children with learning disabilities and complex needs. You will help create individualised care plans and provide day-to-day support in a safe, nurturing environment.

You’ll work with a multidisciplinary team to implement therapeutic interventions, manage challenging behaviours, and support educational, social, and recreational activities.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
• Strong understanding of child development and trauma and adverse experiences.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Responsabilités

• Provide direct care and supervision to children with challenging behaviour and complex needs.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with the children, fostering a sense of trust and security.
• Implement and follow individualised care plans, ensuring the needs of each child are met.
• Manage and respond to challenging behaviour using appropriate strategies and interventions.
• Support children in their educational, social, and recreational activities.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
• Participate in regular training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, external agencies, and families to ensure a holistic approach to care.
