Job summary

Peters Dean Care Ltd in England is opening a brand-new children’s residential home and seeks a Senior Support Worker to join the opening team, supporting up to three young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD).

As a Senior Support Worker, you will help shape the culture, routines and therapeutic environment from the outset, providing leadership, guidance and positive role modelling to the team and ensuring trauma-informed care is embedded throughout.

Qualifications

• Experience with children/young people in residential, care, education or therapeutic settings.
• Experience supporting young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties and trauma.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in children and young people is essential.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships and support emotional wellbeing and development.
• Use trauma-informed approaches, including PACE, to promote positive outcomes.
• Provide positive behaviour support and safe handling in line with policy.
• Lead on shift, support colleagues and contribute to staff supervision.
• Conduct risk assessments to safeguard children and young people.
• Attend meetings with schools, social workers and other professionals.
• Liaise with families and healthcare professionals as needed.
• Document medication accurately and in line with training.
