Job summary

Barnardo's in Hinckley is seeking a Residential Support Worker to join the Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home on a full-time basis. The role supports children and young people aged 8-18, providing short-term placements while assessments are completed.

You will work across local homes, travel as needed, build trusting relationships, document records and uphold safeguarding. A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to complete it is required, with sleep-ins and weekend shifts

Qualifications

• Must hold the Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or be willing to achieve it.
• Motivated to support vulnerable children and young people.
• Flexibility to work shifts including sleep-ins, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Build trust and nurture relationships to promote independence and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with parents/carers and other professionals.
• Contribute to home upkeep including cooking and cleaning.
• Document information accurately and keep records up to date.
• Adhere to safeguarding policies and maintain a safe environment.
