Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Residential Support Worker to join our new Emotional Wellbeing Assessment Home in Hinckley, Leicestershire. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of children and young people aged 8-18 within a supportive and nurturing environment. The service provides short-term placements to help young people develop confidence, independence, and social skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Building trust and developing nurturing relationships to promote the wellbeing and independence of young people.
- Working in partnership with parents, carers, and professionals to support each child's needs.
- Contributing to the upkeep of the home, including cooking, cleaning, and maintaining a safe environment.
- Accurately documenting information and ensuring records are kept up to date.
- Adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures to protect vulnerable children and young people.
- Promoting a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or willingness to achieve this within the required timeframe.
- Motivation to create a safe space and build resilience in young people.
- A good understanding of safeguarding and protection of vulnerable children and young people.
- Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins, weekends, and bank holidays.
- Relevant experience working with children and young people is desirable but not essential; a positive attitude and willingness to learn are equally valued.
