Job summary

Edison Young People is seeking a dedicated Children’s Residential Support Worker – EBD in the Crewe/Nantwich area. You will join a small, close-knit team to support children who’ve faced trauma, providing stability, routines and compassionate care. Training and qualifications will be funded to help you grow.

You’ll work shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins. A full UK driving licence is required, and you’ll be supported with ongoing development and a recognised Level 4 Diploma in

Responsibilities

• Be a calm, steady presence in a child’s life when they need it most.
• Support children with daily routines—school, meals, homework, activities.
• Use trauma-informed care to help them feel safe, understood and valued.
• Assist young people in managing emotions and behaviours in a positive way.
• Collaborate with a small team to provide the best care possible.
• Keep the home tidy and safe, and write reports/logs to help things run smoothly.

Salary: £31,329 - £36,209 (DOE + sleep-ins + qualifications)

A bit about the role

You’ll:

• Working as part of a close-knit team that’s got each other’s backs and works together to give children the best care possible
• Keeping the home tidy, safe, and a place to be proud of
• Writing reports and logs to help keep things running smoothly and safely

You’ll need

• Life experience from any background – we’ll provide full training!
• A calm, caring and reliable personality
• Willingness to learn about trauma-informed care (don’t worry, we’ll teach you)
• A full UK driving licence and be over the age of 21
• Willingness to work shifts, including sleep-ins

• We usually work around 11 day shifts (8am–11pm) per month, and 7–10 sleep-ins
