Job summary

Robertson Residential Group is seeking a Quantity Surveyor in Gateshead to manage the financial and contractual position of building projects. You will forecast, monitor and report costs and value, advising operational managers on commercial matters.

You will maintain financial control systems, prepare monthly reconciliations and help secure timely certification and payment of valuations, while overseeing site progress and variations before final accounts.

Qualifications

• Applicants need relevant qualifications and quantity surveying experience within construction.
• Background in managing budgets is required.
• Analytical approach to problem-solving and strong communication, sales and negotiation skills are needed.

Responsibilities

• Forecast, monitor and report costs and value for projects.
• Maintain financial control systems and prepare monthly cost/value reconciliations.
• Support timely certification and payment of valuations.
• Assist with estimating and tenders when required.
• Monitor site progress and issue contractual notices within timescales.
• Participate in meetings to agree variations before final accounts.
