Job summary

R&D Group in Manchester is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join our growing construction, social housing, insurance reinstatement and property repairs business. This is a hands-on commercial role with a clear development route towards Commercial Manager responsibilities as the business grows.

You will work directly with the Managing Director and alongside our Operations Director, Contracts Manager, Finance Team, surveyors, administrators, suppliers and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Estimator in construction.
• Ability to prepare cost build-ups and interim/final applications.
• Understanding of NHF SORs and client-specific SORs.
• Experience in insurance reinstatement and social housing works.
• Ability to identify variations and manage cost-control.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations, estimates and detailed cost build-ups.
• Review drawings, specifications and site surveys.
• Submit interim and final applications for payment.
• Value completed works and manage variations.
• Develop commercial systems and cost controls.
