Job summary

Mears Group is seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Operative to join our responsive repairs and maintenance team in Leeds. You will perform day-to-day repairs across multiple trades in occupied social housing, focusing on first-time fixes and high standards of workmanship.

Responsibilities include diagnosing faults, carrying out carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling, and decorating tasks, while keeping residents informed and maintaining safety and quality throughout the job.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs and multi-trade maintenance.
• Good health & safety knowledge and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs and maintenance within occupied social housing properties.
• Diagnose faults and complete repairs across a range of trades, ensuring a first-time fix wherever possible.
• Complete carpentry repairs including skirting, architraves, doors, frames, locks, and ironmongery.
• Undertake minor plumbing repairs such as leaks, tap replacements, and unblocking sinks.
• Carry out patch plastering and make good following repair works.
• Complete basic tiling repairs including regrouting and resealing.
• Carry out painting and decorating to reinstate areas after maintenance works.
• Ensure all repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company standards and SLAs.
• Work in occupied properties, maintaining a high level of customer care and respect for residents’ homes.
