Job summary

Mears Group in Cambridge is seeking a talented Multi-Skilled Operative to join our responsive repairs team. You will deliver high-quality repairs across plastering, carpentry, plumbing, tiling and more, in occupied homes, with a focus on safety and customer service.

The role is full-time and permanent, 42.5 hours per week, with a company van and fuel card. You will manage daily duties using handheld devices and maintain high standards with an emphasis on first-time fixes.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in domestic repairs across multiple trades (plastering, carpentry, plumbing, tiling, decorating).
• Full UK driving licence required.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent customer service, especially in occupied homes.
• Good understanding of health and safety regulations and safe working practices.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across social housing properties.
• Patch plastering and repairing damaged walls/ceilings.
• Tile walls and floors, including grouting and sealing.
• Paint/decorate to a professional finish after repairs.
• Replace/repair skirting boards, architraves and doors.
