Job summary

Mears Group PLC in Gillingham is seeking a talented Multi-Skilled Operative to deliver high‑quality repairs and maintenance across social housing properties. You’ll work across occupied homes, covering carpentry, plumbing, plastering, tiling and more, responding to day‑to‑day repair requests with care and professionalism.

This full‑time role offers a reliable salary up to £35,000 with a company van and fuel card, 42.5 hours per week, and a commitment to safety and customer service.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering repairs across multiple trades in social housing.
• Full UK driving license with clean record.
• Ability to work in occupied homes and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out day-to-day responsive repairs across social housing properties.
• Replace or repair skirting boards, architraves and internal door frames.
• Install and adjust kitchen units, worktops and cupboard doors.
• Repair internal doors, handles, locks and hinges.
• Identify and fix minor plumbing issues such as leaks and dripping taps.
• Patch plastering and make good damaged walls or ceilings.
