Job summary

Greystar is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Operative to join our Community team in Barking. You will perform repairs, maintenance tasks, and planned/unplanned works to ensure the building fabric and M&E systems are safe and well maintained, supporting statutory compliance and high resident satisfaction.

Working as part of a friendly team, you’ll diagnose faults, carry out day-to-day decorating, manage records, monitor safety, and coordinate contractors to deliver efficient, cost-effective

Qualifications

• Experience in repairs and maintenance in a residential setting.
• Fluent English written and spoken communication.
• Strong organisational and numerical skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out repairs and maintenance tasks to a high standard (plumbing, carpentry, decorating).
• Assist with planned and unplanned works to maintain building fabric and M&E systems.
• Coordinate contractors and suppliers, monitor RAMS & Permits to Work.
• Maintain records and ensure statutory testing and safety compliance.
• Respond to on-site maintenance calls and report incidents to Community Manager.
