Job description

Eventus Legal are seeking an experienced Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner for a growing law firm in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. This full-time, permanent job offers a salary guide of £45,000 to £60,000 depending on experience and billing history, hybrid working with one flexible day at home each week, 25 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, additional Christmas closure without using your annual leave, and an annual performance-related bonus subject to targets. Working Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, you will manage your own caseload with a dedicated conveyancing assistant and a separate post-completion team, with opportunities for progression.

Role Responsibilities

This Residential Conveyancing Fee Earner job based in Rotherham, South Yorkshire offers a varied caseload and the opportunity to take ownership of transactions from initial instruction through to completion. Key responsibilities will include:

• Independently managing a varied residential conveyancing caseload from initial instruction through to completion, supported by a separate post-completion team.
• Handling freehold and leasehold property sales and purchases, including matters with more complex title considerations.
• Managing new-build conveyancing transactions and related documentation.
• Advising on remortgages, refinancing and bridging finance transactions within the residential property remit.
• Dealing with transfers of equity and associated lender requirements.
• Reviewing title documentation, searches and enquiries, identifying issues and advising clients on appropriate next steps.
• Coordinating exchanges, completions and post-completion formalities while keeping transactions progressing efficiently.
• Liaising with clients, estate agents, lenders, other solicitors and relevant third parties, maintaining clear communication throughout.
• Building strong client and professional relationships while contributing to the continued growth of the residential property department.

Person Specification

Our client welcomes experienced residential conveyancers, whether qualified as a Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive or Licensed Conveyancer, or experienced non-qualified fee earners. The ability to manage an established caseload independently is essential. You should also be able to demonstrate the following:

• Strong practical experience managing your own residential conveyancing caseload from instruction to completion.
• Sound knowledge of freehold and leasehold sales and purchases, including associated conveyancing procedures.
• Experience of handling remortgages, transfers of equity and new-build matters.
• Confidence reviewing titles, searches, enquiries and lender requirements, with a careful approach to risk and detail.
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to balance a busy caseload and meet deadlines.
• A proactive, commercially aware approach to progressing transactions and resolving issues.
• Strong communication and client-care skills, with an approachable and professional manner.
