Berkeley Group is seeking a Development Engineer in Bath, reporting to the Head of Engineering. You will oversee engineering, infrastructure and technical design across land feasibility to construction, collaborating with internal teams, consultants, authorities and stakeholders to ensure compliant, cost-effective solutions aligned with programme requirements.

The role is hands-on, with responsibilities spanning design, coordination, risk management and cost control to support successful

Formación

• Degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience within residential development, engineering consultancy, or housebuilding.
• Strong understanding of UK planning, adoption and regulatory frameworks.
• Competent in interpreting geotechnical, structural and engineering reports.

Responsabilidades

• Lead highway adoption and approval processes with Section 38/278 agreements and licences.
• Coordinate with highway authorities on road layouts, junction designs, and off-site works.
• Manage Section 104 drainage adoptions and submissions for foul/surface water and attenuation.
• Coordinate drainage strategies with water companies and local authorities.
• Coordinate RC-frame structural detailing and interfaces with internal teams and consultants.
• Feed engineering requirements into utility strategies and coordinate diversions.
• Monitor budgets and provide cost advice throughout the project lifecycle.
• Liaise with planning, design, commercial, construction and technical teams to resolve constraints.
