Job summary

Fawkes & Reece Group in Leeds is seeking Engineers and Senior Engineers to support the Regional Technical and operating teams, helping to deliver the group business plan, budgets and future growth while mentoring junior engineers.

You will lead feasibility studies, prepare site viability reports, manage consultant relationships, oversee design implications for planning, NHBC/LABC standards, statutory services and tendering for on-site management arrangements.

Qualifications

• Requires a relevant qualification or strong experience in technical design or civil engineering.
• Experience in residential house building and pre-development.
• Knowledge of NHBC/LABC/SBD and Building Regs.
• Knowledge of Highway Design Standards and sewers for adoption.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical/engineering support to land/development during feasibility studies and lead site viability reports.
• Manage relationships with consultants to ensure information flow is within fees and timescales.
• Be aware of commercial implications relating to planning, design, and services; ensure NHBC standards are met.
• Assist in tendering, setting-up and establishing on-site management companies per group procedures.

Job description

We are looking for experienced Engineers/Senior Engineers who will be responsible for supporting and assisting the Regional Technical team and operating team to support the regional and Group Business plan, commercial objectives, budgets and future growth requirements, whilst mentoring junior members of the team.

This role is ideal for people who are passionate about progressing their technical career within a growing home builder, with a requirement for an eye for detail and the desire to complete tasks to a high standard.

As an Engineer, you will:

• Provide technical/engineering support to the land/development team to assist during feasibility studies and lead in the preparation of site viability reports in line with current regulatory requirements for residential development.
• Manage relationships with consultants to ensure the flow of information is within the agreed fees/ timescales and in accordance with, and on schedule with the programme and in line with the National House building council standards.
• Be aware of and act upon commercial implications relating to planning & architectural design; civil & structural engineering design; geotechnical & ground remediation strategies; statutory services - new supplies & diversions.
• Assist in the process of tendering for, setting-up and establishing on site management companies, whilst implementing the group procedures and ensuring all legal aspects in relation to various agreements.

The Ideal Candidate:

• A relevant qualification or strong experience in technical design, and/or civil engineering
• Strong experience within residential house building and Pre-Development
• Knowledge of engineering requirements of the house building industry and the legal framework associated with Technical standards and requirements.
• Knowledge and application of:

• Sewers for adoption
• Building Regs
• British Standards
• AutoCAD

• Good Technical/legal knowledge and Financial/Commercial awareness
