Job summary

Berkeley Group Plc is seeking a Development Engineer to support delivery of residential developments from feasibility to construction. You will manage engineering, infrastructure and technical design, coordinating with internal teams, consultants and authorities to ensure practical, cost-effective solutions aligned with the programme.

The role focuses on highway adoption, drainage, utility strategies and coordination across planning, design, commercial, construction and technical teams.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Experience in residential development, engineering consultancy, or housebuilding.
• Strong knowledge of UK planning, adoption and regulatory frameworks.
• Ability to interpret geotechnical and structural reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead highway adoption processes and related agreements.
• Coordinate road layouts, drainage and utility strategies with stakeholders.
• Manage site investigations and topographical surveys.
• Collaborate with planning, design, construction and technical teams to deliver projects.
• Provide budget oversight and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
