Job summary

CareTech Community Services in the Dumfries area is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to support young people in a 2 on 4 off shift pattern that includes overnight sleep-ins at the service. The role offers a competitive pay package of £34,327 to £36,375 per year, including sleep-in allowances, with a base salary of £26,227 to £28,275 plus sleep-in top-ups.

Applicants from education, youth work, childcare, healthcare, social care, and related backgrounds are welcome.

• No prior experience required; training provided.

• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and join activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care
• Must be comfortable using an electronic care recording system on a daily basis to document, monitor, and update children and young people’s records accurately.

Job description

Role: Residential Childcare Worker

Location: Dumfries with a 2 on 4 off shift pattern, which includes overnight sleep-ins at the service.

Pay: £34,327 to £36,375 per year (includes base salary + sleep-in allowances)

Base Salary: £26,227 (Unqualified) to £28,275 (Qualified), plus £67.50 per sleep-in. Based on approximately 10 sleep-ins per month, you will top up your earnings by £8,100 annually.

12 month advance rolling rota

A full UK Manual driving licence is required and we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

Torrs is made up of 5 individual homes, which are registered to support 9 young people. We focus on activities that promote the health and wellbeing of our young people, guiding them through the next stages in their life and being a safe space for them to express themselves.
