Job summary

CareTech Community Services in Dumfries is seeking a Residential Childcare Worker to support young people with complex needs in a warm home environment. The role includes daily routines, overnight sleep-ins, and building trusting relationships with the young people.

You will work a 2 on 4 off shift pattern (including sleep-ins) with a base salary plus sleep-in allowances. A full UK driving licence is required.

• Create a warm, homely environment by helping with light housekeeping
• Build strong, meaningful relationships and provide emotional support
• Plan and join fun activities like trips to the park, popcorn & movie nights or creative projects
• Keep essential records to ensure the best possible care.

Job description

Role: Residential Childcare Worker

Location: Dumfries with a 2 on 4 off shift pattern, which includes overnight sleep-ins at the service.

Pay: £34,327 to £36,375 per year (includes base salary + sleep-in allowances)

Base Salary: £26,227 (Unqualified) to £28,275 (Qualified), plus £67.50 per sleep-in. Based on approximately 10 sleep-ins per month, you will top up your earnings by £8,100 annually. 12 month advance rolling rota

A full UK Manual driving licence is required and we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

Where You'll Do It

Cushathill is a beautiful, warm home nestled on the outskirts of Dumfries and Galloway. We are registered to support 4 young people. We have refurbished our home in order to provide the best facilities to support our young people, including new kitchen and open plan dining. We support children who have experienced trauma, have learning disabilities or display challenging behaviours.
