Job summary

Agincare's not-for-profit children's residential service seeks a bank support worker to help children with complex needs across two sites. Shifts include days, nights and sleep-ins; a driving licence is essential for travel between sites.

You will build trusting relationships, support routines and life skills, and work with a team to keep children safe. NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or commitment) and flexibility are required.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare or commitment to completing it.
• Driving licence required for travel between homes.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people
• Support daily routines, including school runs, mealtimes, play and bedtime
• Help children learn life skills and build their independence
• Work as part of a team to keep children safe, secure and cared for
• Support care plans, routines and risk assessments, with training
• Handle challenging behaviour calmly, using a therapeutic approach
• Take part in active days and activities
• Take part in the sleep-in rota
