Job summary

Agincare Weymouth is seeking a dedicated Support Worker to provide compassionate care for children with complex needs. You will build trusting relationships, support daily routines, and help develop life skills in a supportive team environment.

Role includes sleep-ins as needed and a full-time average of 40 hours per week. Training and career development are available, with DBS checks and safeguarding training provided.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate genuine interest in supporting children with complex needs.
• Be patient, resilient, and emotionally intelligent.
• Work flexibly including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
• Meet practical and emotional demands of the role.
• Maintain a positive attitude and be a team player.
• Hold or commit to completing NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare.
• Hold a driving licence and be willing to travel between sites.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting, positive relationships with children and young people.
• Support daily routines – school runs, mealtimes, play and bedtime.
• Help children learn life skills and independence.
• Work as part of a team to ensure safety and care.
• Support care plans, routines, and risk assessments (with training).
• Handle challenging behaviour calmly with empathy and a therapeutic approach.
• Take part in sleep-ins as required.
