Job summary

Agincare Weymouth is opening a not-for-profit Children’s Residential Home in Wimborne, Dorset, and is seeking compassionate Support Workers to join the founding team.

You’ll support children with learning disabilities, help with daily routines, and contribute to a nurturing, safe environment with training provided. Roles include day and sleep-in shifts, with opportunities for progression and funded qualifications.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in supporting children with learning disabilities.
• Willing to learn and follow training provisions.
• Ability to work flexible hours including nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Build trusting relationships with children.
• Support daily routines (school runs, meals, play, bedtime).
• Help children learn life skills and independence.
• Work as part of a team to keep children safe and cared for.
• Assist with care plans, routines and risk assessments (training provided).
• Handle challenging behaviour with empathy and a therapeutic approach.
