Job summary

Active Care Group in Swindon is seeking a residential support worker to join our specialist service for children and young people with a learning disability. You will learn on the job and contribute to a caring, structured environment.

Shifts include day and night options with every other weekend rota. Probation period leads to Level 3/4 Diploma in Residential Child Care while supporting young people in activities and education.

Qualifications

• NVQ 3 or equivalent in Childcare or willing to work towards this.
• A genuine interest in providing person-centred care for young people.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Build relationships with children and young people.
• Establish effective communication methods with children and young people.
• Support with mealtimes and daily living activities as needed.
• Report and record work activities accurately.
• Work within safeguarding policies and organisational guidelines.
